Very nice historic fishing village I would visit again. Abby and Captain cook museum is worth a visit. I had mussels and fish and chips at Mister Fish and Chips and it was all very good. Whitby is quite hilly but easy to get around. A train trip on the Yorkshire Moors railway is a must. I wish I had stayed a bit longer than over night.Hoerlein - 10Scored 10

I would advise the Park and ride as Whitby is a nightmare to park. We parked at the P&R and got an all day family bus ticket for £5:20, for the length of time we were there i think it would have cost much more to park. We love Whitby it is charming we sometimes visit twice a year and stay over Summer and autumn. Love the history of Whitby like to visit the Abbey and church and museums. The walk into Whitby was quick and easy, with many amenities on the doorstep. The guidebook helped with some suggestions of places to visit and we enjoyed two wonderful meals: Abbey Harbour and Moon and Sixpence, as well as delicious cocktails at Cafe Montmarte. All in all, a wonderful break, where we would be happy to stay again.
